The Poor Dog and We Silly Indians : In the mirror of Food Security Bill

It is very episodic to narrate a situation before all conscious and vigilant intellectuals as well as before them also, those who never involve themselves in any relevant or irrelevant issues. And the situation begins with a question. Have you ever seen a street dog engrossed in crushing and chewing a rough and dry yet a totally waste piece of  bone? Hope, many of you have seen it. But, how many of you have ever noticed that what exactly happens during this entire process? Do you think that if that poor dog gets any food material or any nutrition from that waste bone? Or, does it satisfies any organic or biological need of that poor dog? Surprisingly, the answer for all such questions or curiosities are "NO".

Then, what exactly makes that dog so engrossed or preoccupied with that waste piece of bone? Now, let me explain the actual happening. While crushing and chewing of that bone it gets several cuts and injury on the tongue and in entire oral cavity of that poor dog and there its a secretion of blood from all those injuries. The dog gets a taste of live blood and feels that if the taste is coming out from that bone only. The poor dog remains in that confused bias for ever. And, becomes a victim of this beguilement of destiny every time.

Neither that poor dog nor we silly Indians have been able to understand this pitiless deception. But, our politicians have understood it much better since a long time and they have mastered in using this as an ultimate weapon in any such situation when it is beneficial to curb or dilute the attention in their favor.

Perhaps, this is the same situation when another piece of bone has been offered in the name of "Food Security Bill". This is not the first time, we have received such decoy ducks. Earlier also in the name of  "Public Distribution System", "Mid-Day Meal Scheme", "Antyoday Anna Yojana", "Aanganwadi Yojana" and several other schemes which sounds like an ultimate scheme for the welfare of the poor, unprivileged and malnourished class of society.

It has gone years and nothing has changed. People are dyeing every year due to malnutrition. Poor people are getting poorer every year. Politicians are busy with the game of data and figures, which have always been proved as an instrument to cover up the miserable misdeeds of these politicians. Till now there is no such established classification is available which may define that to whom government considers really a poor person of the society?

"Public Distribution System" has been established with an identity as a secured institution of scams and monkey sharing among Politicians and Administrative Officers. But who cares? Damn It!!!

The ignominious status of "Mid-Day Meal" scheme has been well exposed. But who cares? Damn It!!!

"Antyoday Anna Yojana" is another name of a scheme which has been proven with enough roominess for grievous scams. But who cares? Damn It!!!

Then it is "Aanganwadi Yojana". A proven and rich resource of scams at every level of its implementation. But who cares? Damn It!!!

All such schemes are there in effect but, unable to serve the cause they were introduced for. Unfortunately, the poor class of the society has been further divided into different classes like Below poverty level, Above poverty level and those who are beggars have yet not been kept in any such class. This is an attempt to create a wall among those poor people. Many a times it has been a reason of fight among each other in the name of their rights and eligibility for such schemes.

While giving a "Close Watch" to these fights you'll also find it very similar to the fights of dogs when one gets a piece of bone and the rest don't get it at all.

Though the "Food Security Bill" has gained the confidence in parliament and passed, but has it got the confidence of the nation? The situation suggests the intention while implementing this bill as a gross negligence of the interest of the people and nation itself.

In a situation when the present government has registered a significant failure on every front of economic reforms, how can we trust to let them inaugurate a scheme which is going to put an additional liability of more than Rs 3.5 lakh crores.

I wish to be wrong in my apprehension, but what I apprehend that once again a few dogs will get their piece of bones and the rest shall remain fighting together for their piece of right...

It may sound gruesome and grisly, but aren't we pushed to witness the same situation???

Poor Street Dog

Pity!!!

Fragrance of love and togetherness

Every year we were celebrating Durga Pooja jointly as a family together. This was an occasion when it was a mandatory for all my brothers and sisters to ensure their presence without fail at our home. It was such occasion every year we kept on waiting, since this was an opportunity when we all brothers and sisters along with their spouse and kids were assembled together. But, the worst part of this gathering was the job of cleaning the home waiting for all of us and nobody was ready to accept it happily. In fact, we were getting assembled normally one or two day before the beginning of this 10 days long celebration.

Before, this usually most part of the house remained closed. Since, it was not possible for my parent to maintain the cleanliness of entire house alone of their own. So, whenever we opened the door it was an unique stench of smelly air waiting there to welcome us which was quite unbearable for all of us. But, ultimately willingly or unwillingly we used to indulge ourselves in order to make the house and atmosphere clean. It was always surprising that it never took too long to make the entire house neat and clean. But, even after every effort of cleanliness it was not possible to remove the smell. And, it was really agonizing and disturbing to bear with that smell.

We tried several methods like Incense sticks, Dhoop and Havan samagri to make the atmosphere pleasant and cozy. But, even with all resources applied together a bit of stench of the smell remained there. In spite of all these adversity we were able to live together without feeling any more bad about that smelly air. Since, we were blessed with the aroma of love and togetherness. Believe me, that was the aroma of that love and togetherness only which made all of us quite comfortable and relaxed.

Gradually, along with the passing days the entire environment was converted festive and holy. Together, all of us cherished those ten days celebrations as the best smiley moments ever of life. We were able to cope with those smelly air with the smiles of each other.

Now, it has gone many years when we have lost this opportunity. Everyone is busy now with their own responsibilities related to their jobs or studies. We are not able now to spare such time together for each other. Though, we meet each other but separately at different occasions.

Its the nostalgia which makes me gloomy while remembering those smiley faces and the everlasting fragrance of love and togetherness.

Shrinking One Rupee Coin : Blame it on US

* While saying "Blame it on US" I never mean to Blame it on United States. I mean "US" only "the we Indians".

While starting my hobby of collecting coins I never thought that It will be ever helpful for me to understand the economy and its different perspectives. Today every where there is a big noise about the devaluation of Rupee in comparison to Dollar(US). Today, One US Dollar has crossed the value more than 64 Rupees and this has been the biggest news and a reason for all shouts and noises among different political galleries.

A comparison is being carried away that in 1947 One Dollar(US) was equivalent to One Rupee, and so, there is a great devaluation in Rupee is being calculated and discussed. It is surprising to the best extent that nobody is concerned to calculate the devaluation of Indian Rupee with itself.

I mean to say that had we been ever concerned about the changing shapes, sizes and metals of Indian one Rupee coin? Here, I am trying to put on light on the issue with the help of following pictures of different one Rupee coins which itself depicts the story of its devaluation.

Indian One Rupee Coin 1945
Indian One Rupee Coin - 1945

This was perhaps last Coin in circulation in India which was made of Silver as a main metal used. Then after independence there came Cupro Nickel Coins. The metal was cheaper and the size was also smaller.

Indian One Rupee Coin 1947
Indian One Rupee Coin - 1947
It was quite popular and circulated for a longer time. Then another coin came in vogue which was made  with the Nikel and it was much thinner than this. So, a practice of cost cutting in the manufacturing of coins introduced.

This coin also ruled for a longer time and was substituted with its smaller and thinner version in a new shape, size and looks as well.

Indian One Rupee Coin 1985
Indian One Rupee Coin - 1985

This coin was also in existence for a pretty long time but, all of a sudden we experienced a gradual scarcity of all these coins talked earlier. Since, they were being used now for making some artificial jewelry and blades or many other materials like these. As the metal used in these coins had much better value than the currency value of the same. And, then came an era of coins made of Ferratic Stainless Steel which was even smaller and thinner of its earlier version.

Hope, by now I am able to explain the gradual devaluation of Indian One Rupee Coin. I have shown all pictures of Coins from my own collection to make it clear and to show that how the quality of these Coins have gone deteriorated that these new generation Coins are getting eroded in quite shorter period of time. This was the time when in my opinion there must had been an attention and a question about the devaluation of the same by media and other responsible authorities. But, to the worst of my surprise none had dared or thought to raise a voice against it.

Now, we are here to witness, perhaps last edition of the One Rupee Coin in India which has came before us in its smallest shape. I am afraid now that the metallic cost of One Rupee Coin will become more than its currency value and our government will be forced to withdraw it from the circulation.

Indian One Rupee Coin 2002
Indian One Rupee Coin - 2002
My fearful doubt is getting more worse while remembering the fate of other smaller value Coins in India. All these Coins have lost their existence while travelling the same journey.

Till now all such changes were accepted quite normally or with a sense which is prevailed in common Indian mind according to "Bhagwadgita" whatever happens it happens for a good reason.

But, is this a change to be solicited so normally as they are being solicited till now?

Is this not an appropriate time to blow a whistle about the apprehended fear regarding One Rupee Coin being on the verge of getting extinct in recent future?

To make it more clear and understandable let me show two pictures of Quarter Dollar of United States of America.

U.S. Quarter Dollar Coin - 1969
Quarter Dollar of United States - 1969
The Coin shown above is made of Cupric Nikel and was issued in year 1969. And, below is the Coin which was issued in year 1990. Both Coins are made of same metal and the shape and size is also quite similar.

U.S. Quarter Dollar Coin - 1990
Quarter Dollar of United States - 1990

There is  a gap of 21 years between these two coins and there is no change at all between these two coins so far till now also the same coin is in circulation in United States.

Now, the question is what has happened to Quarter Rupee Coin of India? I am talking about 25 Paise Coin or 4 Anna Coin. Is Anyone there who remembers when they had used this coin last time? I am sure it is about more than 10 years when we stopped circulating it.

Then, is this not a genuine apprehension that perhaps, we are on the verge of making our own One Rupee Coin, the smallest and the basic unit of Indian Economy as an extinct materiel?

The most depressing fact is that all this deterioration has taken place quite rapidly in recent 10 years when the rein of the nation is in the hands of a noted and learned economist Mr. Manmohan Singh

I am not at all an economist and have a very poor knowledge of it as well but, what I have learned from the collection of my coins that right now it is not an only matter to be worried that how costlier the Dollar is getting now but it is equally or somehow more serious matter to be worried that are we going to witness such situation when the single Basic Unit of Indian Economy, the One Rupee Coin will not survive any more?

I wish it may be a pseudo apprehension of mine only and we'll be able to say "All Is Well".

But, unfortunately in the shadow of endless scams and irresponsible governance the ray of hope seems to be covered in the mist.

An Independence Day or A Repentance Day

What does an Independence Day Means to a Common Indian Man?

* Listening Patriotic(?) songs from loudspeakers, music channels?
* Eating Jalebies(?) which has become quite relevant sweet on independence day?
* Sending and receiving messages reading Happy Independence Day?
* Listening speeches of leaders, most of them are those who are proven unconcerned about the nation?
* Fixing a national flag on Bicycle, Bike or on the top of roof of their homes? Just doing so as others are also doing it?

Several questions like this comes every year in mind on this Independence Day.

How can an Independence Day be worth celebrating where kids are compelled to satisfy their hunger by selling national flags?

Smiling kid Selling Flag

Till the juvenility of the nation is not free from the hunger, health and illiteracy how can we celebrate an occasion like Independence Day?

Poor Child Selling Indian Flag

The nation where the politicians are not able to distinguish the difference between Independence Day and Republic Day? What's the sense of celebrating Independence Day? See the picture below where it is clearly proven that how the value of Independence Day is being mocked by the politicians. It has became just a matter of business of their popularity only. Nothing else!!!

Mockery of Independence day
Is it not like mocking of Independence Day?

Where leaders do believe in creating delusion among innocent citizens by playing with misleading information and statements. Where even after 66 years issues like religion, cast and creed are kept alive and are used as a weapon to divide and rule. Where an army personnel is considered as an employee for being martyrs only. Where still a majority of citizens are compelled to live below poverty level. How can it be convincing for a celebration of Independence Day?

Political Illusion

A nation so scared from the threats of terrorists that the national capital turns in to an army camp? Where the Prime Minister of the nation is forced to deliver his speech from a bulletproof cage. Where a poor citizen is asked to remove their cloths even in the name of security check. Does it deserves to claim even of being independent? Is it not a matter of shame???

Prime Ministers Speech From Bullet Proof Cover

Many more questions are there....

All remains unanswered.....

Year after year.....

An Independence Day or A Repentance Day???

Please correct me if I am wrong with my thoughts....

Its time to think a lot...Before we vote...

"Shaheedon ki chitaon par lagenge har baras mele, Watan par mitne waalon ka yahi baaki nishaan hoga"

Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil, the great freedom fighter and poet had never ever thought that the values of these lines will become meaningless and outdated in his own country just after few decades.

Today India has witnessed the non-relevance of these lines as a gross deterioration of values and ethics in politics when a minister of Bihar expressed his firm opinion that people join armed forces or department of police for being martyrs only. So, according to him it should be understood that the soldiers are being paid to die while performing their duties.

He was trying to validate the absence of any minister or representative of state during the arrival of dead bodies at airport of those four martyrs of Bihar, who lost their lives during the despicable act of Pakistan army at Poonchh.

Shameful Statement of Bhim Singh
What said Bhim Singh

From last three days, India has witnessed many such statements from different politicians who have almost tried their best to nullify the sacrifice of the lives of the martyrs in different ways. Though, later either they made an excuse or refused back from their statements but, unfortunately it could not prevent or repair the hurt sentiments. The chameleon act of these politicians has been recognized as an in-comprehensive carelessness.

Bhim Singh's Apology on his Statement
Seeking apology later
This has raised a big question now, that are the humans of the nation, safe in such inhuman hands???

Its time to think a lot...Before we vote...

Isn't It???

Dastard Pakistan : Sissy India

Dead Bodies of Indian Martyrs

Witnessing another dastard act of Pakistan Army and the sissy as ever reaction of the Indian government has tormented the sentiment of nation and the intention and destiny of the government has been proved precarious. It is astounding to understand why defence minister of India gave clean chit to the pakistan while giving statement that the five jawans of Indian Army were assassinated by the militants who were dressed up like Pakistan Army Uniforms at Poonchh. This is not just giving a clean chit against the Pak cowardice, but its like giving approval of the diplomatic claim of Pakistan that behind all such malicious incidents there are either militants or the freedom fighters of Kashmir.

The chronology of spiteful and malevolent acts of Pakistan clearly indicates their sinful intention, even though giving such relieving statement by Indian government creates a dreadful doubt and smells like some hidden or unknown conspiracy. Sometimes, it creates a very stupid yet an extremely serious doubt that are these ministers have a more committed bonding with Pakistan than that of India???

It is moreover clear now that these politicians are least worried about the interest of nation. It is even more surprising that prime minister of the country remains silent on such serious issue. Foreign Minister of the country was also seen very much reserved while giving any harsh or tough statement against Pakistan as if he is worried that any such statement may make their masters unhappy.

Such sissy behaviour of Indian Ministers had portrayed the nation like a poor-spirited virtuous wife who is compelled to behave well even after incurring all despicable acts of a fiendish drunk husband. Those who even don't dare to raise a protest against the evil deeds of them.

It is not just a case which has made entire nation shameful but, it has created a condition like getting drowned for every sensible citizen of the country. It has created a situation like a man is living with a curse of impotence or like an eunuch. It has created a condition like there is no value at all for the national conscience and pride.

Time has come now to reconsider our values and philosophy. We'll have to reconsider it now, that how longer we'll have to offer our another cheek after having a slap on one. We'll have to reconsider it now, that how longer we'll let them play with our national sovereignty in the name of peace and the sleazy Gandhian philosophy. We'll have to reconsider now, that how longer we'll have to wait to retort with a final smashed hit.

Time has come now to identify and to remove from the roots to all those malafide scabs and enemies of the nation both inside and outside of the border.

Just covering the dead bodies of these martyrs with national tricolor in a coffin and offering state honor and some amount of compensation will just leave the issue unanswered. Actual tribute to the martyrs shall be the ultimate retort to the dastard Pakistan.
